# Remove video background

> Cut a video's subject out without green screen or rotoscoping. Upload the clip and get a clean cut-out with sharp edges and hair, ready to composite.

Remove a video's background straight in the browser. No green screen,
no hand-rotoscoping: upload the clip and AI segments the subject frame
by frame, keeping edges and hair clean.

## What it's for

* Pulling a creator off any background so you can drop them onto a
  different plate or a solid color.
* Isolating a product for ads or catalog reels.
* Cleaning shots filmed without a set: a phone camera is enough.

## How it works

## Best practices

* **Good subject/background contrast**: if subject and background share
  the same tone, the segmentation loses edge detail.
* **Steady camera**: the less the camera moves, the cleaner the cut
  (the subject itself can move freely).
* **Fine details in clothing**: lace, fringes or very light hair are
  the hardest cases. Check the result at 100% before downloading.

## Limits

* 30 seconds max per clip. For longer videos, cut them into chunks and
  process each one separately.
* MP4 only. If your source is another container, convert it first with
