# Motion

> Apply controlled motion to your character from a reference: your character moving exactly like the clip, in its original style, with the clip's audio kept.

Motion copies the movement from a reference video onto a character
image. You record yourself moving or talking; the result is that same
movement with a different face/body.

## What you need

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Character image" icon="image">
    The image to animate (e.g. one of your AI Avatars).
  </Card>

  <Card title="Motion video" icon="video">
    A short clip (3 to 30 s) of you moving or talking.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Upload the character image">
    Into the **CHARACTER** slot. It can come from the
    [Characters](/en/modes/characters) mode.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload your motion clip">
    Into the **MOTION VIDEO** slot. Movement is copied frame by frame.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate">
    The prompt is optional; the reference clip drives it. You get the
    result to download in under a minute.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Quality tiers

* **Standard** (720p): the workhorse, fluid and well-defined.
* **Pro** (1080p): for hero pieces (ads, key clips).

## Cost estimate

Priced per second of the **source** (the reference clip's duration
sets the result's duration).

| Quality      | Cost   |
| ------------ | ------ |
| **Standard** | 6 cr/s |
| **Pro**      | 8 cr/s |

Example: a Standard Motion, 8 s = 48 cr. Fits \~2 in a Starter month
(120 cr) or \~12 in Pro (600 cr).

<Note>
  The original audio from the reference clip is kept in the result.
  Record with good light and the face visible for a clean transfer.
</Note>

## Best practices

* **Face visible** in the motion clip: if you want the transfer to
  look natural, the camera has to see the face well.
* **Matching framing**: if the clip is a medium shot, upload an image
  also at medium shot. Very different framing breaks the transfer.
* **Clear movement**, not too chaotic.
